Idea: File Tree Software

File tree is a great piece of tiny software that quickly lets you see what's inside your computer.  If you have individual folders for student work, or for classroom activities, this will quickly show you who/what is taking up most of the disk space.  So when you run out of disk space (you will) you can send out informed messages to your users, instead of general "the drive is full, delete your work now" messages.

It's always interesting to see why your drives are being filled.  Maybe iTunes has copied its library to your local drive, or maybe someone has backed up their email.

I have also included PrintFolders, a free and small application to instantly print out a list of what's in each folder.  This is great when you are doing organising and there are too many files and too many folders to make sense of it on the screen.
